The choir of Christ Church Cathedral will sing Christmas Hymn, and Lacey Gilliam and Faith Aeilts will sing Magnificat as part of An American Cathedral Christmas.

Premiere and new music concert

Hear the premiere of Langston Hughes Songs on Thursday, October 8 at 7:30pm. The concert will be at 21c Museum.

To kick off Louisville’s new composers series, 21c presents Hear + Now. The evening will feature the album release of Book of Leaves by Rachel Grimes, followed by Chamber and Electronic works by Daniel Gilliam, Lou Moseson, Sara MacLean, Malcolm Turner, and Jacob Gotlib.

Upcoming Performances: Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis

Christ Church Cathedral in Louisville will present an Evensong with the Canticles composed by Daniel on September 13, 2009 at 5:00 pm. The settings include the Magnificat for unaccompanied soprano and alto; the Nunc Dimittis for baritone, bass and organ; and the Gloria Patri settings for all four voices.

Evensong will be preceded by a 30-minute concert by pianist, Agnes Wan of the Blair School of Music, Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN.

On Sunday, July 26, 10:00am, at Christ Church Cathedral you can hear the premiere of Magnificat for unaccompanied soprano and alto. The singers are Lacey Gilliam and Maggie Schwenker.
